(cross-posted on Our Kids Speak)
Scenario: dinner table.
Conversation: talk of Shabbos and shuls.
Specific conversation: 6 1/2 year old N. asks, "Abba [Dad], can we go to the BAYT (one of the two shuls we belong to; a 30 minute walk from our house; acronym stands for Beth Avraham Yoseph Congregation of Toronto) next Shabbos?"
Abba: "Im yirtzeh Hashem."
N.: "What?"
Abba repeats: "Im yirtzeh Hashem."
N.: "What does THAT mean?"
Abba: "If Hashem wants us to, [we'll go there]."
30 second pause...
N.: "He does."

I like that, a boy who knows exactly what G-d is thinking! Take that kid to the races and let him pick!
I love how kids know what Hashem wants!
your child alluded to what a big rabbi once said (i think rabbi ruderman) - The rabbi asked a student if he was going to learn a lot in the upcoming term/zman and the boy said im yirtzeh hashem and the rabbi said, G-d is willing, you have to be willing too...
CM: Hmm...wonder if your idea would work.
Kasamba: Wouldn't it be nice if we were let in on the secret a little more often?
Rabbi Neil: Thank you for that story.
