Thinking Out Loud

...Sometimes I wonder "What the heck was I doing in my spare time before I began living the blog culture -- reading blogs, writing posts?"

Don't many of you wonder the same about yourselves?

Yes! It's amazing how many hours per week I spend on blogging. I do know I quit the board of a nonprofit organization so I could spend the time blogging!

I used to spend a lot of time goofing around on Usenet. Before that I was into arts & crafts, which got pretty expensive, so I guess hanging out online is better from that respect. I have been bored with this lately and sometimes thinking about taking up knitting though...

I used to sleep more :) I often extend bedtime to read blogs or write posts.

I use to read, and participate in, several Israel-related and and other Jewish lists (e.g., mail-jewish) which were distributed via email. Blogs have taken the place of those 90s communication forums (fora?).
